About Lubbock
Lubbock is located in the center of the South Plains, on the high plains
of western Texas, and is home to a great variety of weather, food and
entertainment. Lubbock is known as the “Hub City,” being the
economic, education and health care hub of the South Plains. Lubbock supports
a population of over 200,000 people, and is home to Texas Tech University.
Those visiting will find an abundance of dining and entertainment opportunities.
A wealth of fast food and casual dining restaurants as well as local establishments
can be found in close proximity to the Conference Center, with a variety
of other eateries scattered throughout the city, though concentrated on
the south and southwest side of town. For additional entertainment information

The average temperatures during the middle of February range from highs in the upper 50s to lows around 30 degrees. However, records during this same period vary from the lower and middle 80s on the high end to around 0 on the low side. Lodging
The conference will be held at the Overton Hotel & Conference Center,
located in central Lubbock and adjacent to Texas Tech University. A lot
of rooms have been reserved for conference attendees, with a special group
discount available. The discounted room rates are priced at: $129
per night.

Airport to the Hotel
The Lubbock – Preston Smith International Airport is located on
the north side of town and is about a 10 minute drive from the Overton
Hotel. Complimentary transportation is available to and from the airport
by the Overton Hotel.
